Franklin, 81 of Las Cruces, NM died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. She was born October 1, 1928 in Bromide, Oklahoma to William and Hester Ramey. Zella was a homemaker, mother and grandmother, a very hard working woman who provided for her family. She had been a resident of Las Cruces for most her life and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by five sons, Danny Green of Stow, OH; Tommy Franklin of Elizabethtown, KY; Edward Franklin of Mountain Home, ID; Bill Franklin and Bob Franklin both of Las Cruces, NM. Two daughters, Nancy Atwood of Douglas, AZ and Terri Piper of Las Cruces, NM. Also surviving her is one sister Lorene Daniels of T or C, NM; twenty grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Eldon; and two grandchildren, Michelle Boss and Shaune Franklin. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home. Graveside funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress. Officiating will be Rev. Alan Granger. Arrangements by Getz Funeral Home corner of Solano and Bowman Ave., Las Cruces, NM 526-2419.
