Butcher, 64, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1946 in Atlantic, Iowa to Parker and Marjorie Welch Butcher. Mr. Butcher served his country honorably in the United States Navy and retired as a Production Manager from Smurfit Stone Bag Division. Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife, Sherry F. Butcher of the family home; a son, Douglas Butcher, Jr. of W. Des Moines, Iowa; two daughters, Brandie Butcher-Isley and husband Larry also of W. Des Moines, Iowa, Malisa Ireland and husband Jason of Stanford, Virginia; his mother, Marjorie Butcher; a brother, Parker Butcher both of Shenandoah, Iowa. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Aly and Tosha Isley, Christyl Butcher, Sherry, Robert and Jason D. Ireland. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation for Mr. Butcher will be Friday, November 19, 2010 from 6 PM to 8 PM in Hamilton's near Highland's Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa where the Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2010 with Reverend Cliff Haider officiating. Concluding Service and Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels. 527-2222.
