She was born January 4, 1925 in Alamogordo to Martina (Gonzales) and Catarino Guerra. Natividad resided in Las Cruces since 1945. "Ama" as we fondly called her was never too busy to share her hospitality, time and advice to her family. "Ama" enjoyed spending her time fishing, camping, playing cards, and listening to her favorite CD of her son, David singing. "Ama" will always be in our hearts and memories. She is survived by five generations, daughter, Teresa Guerra and husband, Joe; three sons, Ernest Covarrubia and wife Rosa, Edward Covarrubia and wife Loretta of Las Cruces, David Covarrubia and wife Isela of Austin, TX. She had seven grandchildren, Susan Covarrubia, Elizabeth (Lisa) Guerra, Anthony Guerra, Eric Covarrubia, Bryan Covarrubia and Sonja Lopez of Las Cruces, Davina Hosick and husband Michael of Houston, TX, and Isidoro (Isi) Covarrubia of Shreveport, LA. Other survivors include nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, Jaime Salazar and wife Laura, Melissa Salazar, Yolanda Salazar and Eduardo Armendariz, Marissa Guerra, Clarissa Guerra, Damian Sanchez, Davien Guerra, Christian Covarrubia, Serenity Lopez, Brian Salazar, Sabrina Salazar, and Stanlee P. Doroteo Lucero. Natividad is survived by three sisters, Catarina Butler, Emma Torres, and Lucy Cisneros and husband Ernesto; brother Tito Guerra and wife Estela, and many loving nieces and nephew! s. She was preceded in death by her husband Doroteo, her son Guadalupe (Lupe) and daughter Carmen Covarrubia, Brother Guadalupe Guerra and a sister Manuela (Nellie) Mc Auliffe. Visitation for Mrs. Covarrubia will begin at 6 PM, Friday, November 26, 2010 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, November 27, 2010 in Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in Masonic Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Bryan Covarrubia, Eric Covarrubia, Susan Covarrubia, Lisa Guerra, Isidoro Covarrubia and Anthony Guerra. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren.
