She excelled in high school and belonged to the National Honor Society. She was multi-talented: played guitar, violin, and had a beautiful singing voice. She had high writing and language skills. Yolanda made friends easily throughout her life. She was a good mother and had a loving relationship with her only daughter. Yolanda is survived by her daughter Jessica Lee Howard of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; mother Elizabeth Holguin Lannert of Las Cruces; father Fred Lannert of Florida; sister Josie Elaine Lannert of Las Cruces; brother Fred William Lannert of Pennsylvania; Aunt Maria Silva of Las Cruces, and many cousins and relatives. Preceded her in death were: husband Martin Lee Howard; paternal grandparents Ida and Paul Lannert of New York; maternal grandparents Josefa M. and Silvino Holguin of Lass Cruces; aunts Mary Jane Portera and Frances Holguin. To honor her wishes, a memorial service took place the weekend of November 6, 2010. The celebration of her life was held at a sea memorial in Newport Beach, California, with loving family and friends in attendance.
