Apodaca, 79, of Las Cruces and formerly of Garfield entered eternal life Monday, November 22, 2010 at La Posada - Mesilla Valley Hospice. He was born June 29, 1931 in Garfield to Nestor and Higinia Sedillo Apodaca. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW Post 12008 in Hatch, where he served as past commander Mr. Apodaca retired as a Farm and Labor Contractor and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He loved people, music and dancing and will be missed by all Survivors include his loving wife, Enedina Apodaca of the family home; one son, Mike Apodaca of Las Cruces; three daughters, Linda Apodaca also of Las Cruces, Norma Flores of Albuquerque and Sandy Kelly of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Robert Apodaca, Roger Apodaca and Paul Apodaca all of Las Cruces; four sisters, Mariana Gonzalez of Las Cruces, Esther Chavez of Hacienda Heights, California, Emma Bouvet of Garfield and Vera Chavez of Las Cruces. Other survivors include ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mike Apodaca. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7 PM, Friday, November 26, 2010 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina Street. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, November 27, 2010 in San Isidro Catholic Church in Garfield. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Garfield Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Military Honors will be accorded by a Naval Honor Guard Serving as casket bearers will be Kristopher Pina, Jason Pina, James Pina, Kevin Pina, Donnie Apodaca and Dorian Apodaca. Honorary bearers will be Brittany Flores, Ashley Flores, Jaclyn Apodaca and Aidan Kelly. Entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels of Las Cruces, 300 E.
