She was born on August 12, 1924 in Lake Arthur, New Mexico to Vernon Clifford and Essie Coleman (Tice) Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ivan Leroy Horton, her parents, and two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by one son, James Leon Horton (Frances) of Hobbs, NM, one daughter, Kathleen Lavon Massey (Richard) of Las Cruces, NM, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
