She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and coworkers. Yolanda Marie Lannert was born September 7, 1955 in Aberdeen, Maryland. She grew up in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania where she attended high school and college. Most recently, Yolanda worked as an engineer for Boeing California for twenty years. Prior to moving to California in the mid-1980's she was employed at White Sands Missile Range for TRW and several other defense employers. She excelled in high school and belonged to the National Honor Society. She was multi-talented: played guitar, violin, and had a beautiful singing voice. She had high writing and language skills. Yolanda made friends easily throughout her life. She was a good mother and had a loving relationship with her only daughter. Yolanda is survived by her daughter Jessica Lee Howard of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; mother Elizabeth Holguin Lannert of Las Cruces; father Fred Lannert of Florida; sister Josie Elaine Lannert of Las Cruces; brother Fred William Lannert of Pennsylvania; Aunt Maria Silva of Las Cruces, and many cousins and relatives. Preceded her in death were: husband Martin Lee Howard; paternal grandparents Ida and Paul Lannert of New York; maternal grandparents Josefa M. and Silvino Holguin of Las Cruces; aunts Mary Jane Portera and Frances Holguin. To honor her wishes, a memorial service took place the weekend of November 6, 2010. The celebration of her life was held at a sea memorial in Newport Beach, California, with loving family and friends in attendance.
