Sanchez-McKenzie, 41, left her earthly body Monday November 29th, 2010 at La Posada MVH surrounded by her family and a whole bunch of love, Deborah had been ill for some time. Deborah was boron in Las Cruces to Abraham M. Sanchez (Abe) and Adelaida Jimenez Miller (Lita) on December 13th, 1968. She attended school and lived in Las Cruces until 1982 when she moved away with her mother, sister, and father Jerry miller to Clovis, New Mexico where she graduated from Clovis High School. While attending Clovis High, she played the clarinet in the concert band. She was active in theatre and student council. Deborah was a wonderful and bright student. She graduated class of 1986. Deborah met her husband of 15 years, Stephen Hampton, in Clovis, New Mexico; this union produced two of the most wonderful children a mother could have. Deborah later followed her Air Force husband to Virginia then San Antonio, Texas, which was a place that was very dear to her heart. She loved going to see the San Antonio missions ball team play; she was their loudest supporter in the stands and is to this day probably the only fan that was physically removed from the ballpark for being too vocal in her support of the Missions. Deborah was a very charitable person and was always thinking of others first, she was very outgoing and active in Girl Scouts, Dance, Scuba Diving, and most important to her was her faith and church. She had a great spiritual love for her Lord. Deborah had a great sense of humor, imagination, and really loved to write poetry. She loved to dance in the rain, and never cared who saw her. She later relocated to Carlsbad, New Mexico where she met and married her current husband Richard McKenzie. They moved to Las Cruces to be closer to family and medical services. Deborah was instrumental in her mother's search for a church to call home while she was a young adult in Clovis. Deborah lost her way during her illness, but in the end, the Lord brought her back to the fold. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard "Mack" McKenzie of Las Cruces, her daughters Tamatha Kathleen Mendelzon (husband Brant), and Victoria Casey Hampton of Killeen, Texas. She had one grandson, Michael Allen Mendelzon. She only knew him for 7 weeks, but he was the apple of her eye. She is also survived by her mother Adelaida (Lita) Miller, brother Dennis J. (wife Lorena) Sanchez, sister Denise M. (husband David F.) Thomen of Las Cruces, James Sanchez (partner Jessica Austin) of Santa Fe, brother Duane (wife Lydia) Miller of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by three nephews, seven nieces, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Deborah was preceded in death by her father Abraham M. Sanchez (1980), her dad Jerry W. Miller (11/21/2010), and her youngest brother Abraham M. Sanchez (2004). At her request, Deborah has been cremated and a service of resurrection will be held Saturday December 4th, at 10am in St. Andrews Episcopal Church at 518 N. Alameda. Her remains will be interred in the columbarium in Kendrick Chapel. Arrangements are with La-Paz Graham's Funeral Home.
