Lopez, 54 of Las Cruces, NM passed away Monday, November 29, 2010 at home surrounded by his family. Martin was born August 30, 1956 in San Antonio, TX to Juan and Carmen Lopez. Martin served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps and served as a Custody Officer for the Newport Beach Police Department. He was also a member of Las Cruces First Assembly of God Church. Martin was well known in Biker community as "Big Dogg". Martin is survived by his wife Roberta "Birdie" of Las Cruces; four sons, Michael Dominguez of Mesquite, NM; Martin Joseph Lopez, Jr. of Hattisburg, MS; Steven Lopez of Huntington Beach, CA; and Nicholas Lopez of Huntington Beach, CA. one daughter, Jessica Aldaz and husband Victor of Anthony, NM. Two stepchildren, Isaac Alvarez and Andrea Alvarez both of Las Cruces, NM. He has five brothers, Joe Lopez of San Antonio, TX; Alfred Lopez of Las Vegas, NV; "Chon" Lopez of Las Cruces, NM; Tony Lopez of Phoenix, AZ; and Albert Lopez of El Paso, TX. Also surviving is two sisters, Mary Perez of Las Vegas, NV and Gloria Lewis of Las Cruces, NM; five grandchildren, Dustin, Richard, Lucas, Jackson Aldaz and Raelynn Dominguez. Martin was preceded in death by his brother Miguel Lopez, Sr, and his mother Carmen Lopez. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10 am on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Las Cruces First Assembly of God Church, 5605 Bataan Memorial West, Las Cruces, NM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery with full military honors. Officiating will be Pastor David Vistine.
