She was born on May 6, 1927 in Winfield, Kansas to John and Emma Miller. She was the youngest of six children and her father died in 1928. Her mother raised all of her children on a farm. Jeanette attended a 1 room country school a mile from her home her first 8 years of school and graduated from Winfield high school in 1945. She married Dan Kittrell in August, 1946 and worked as a secretary while he attended college where he received his Bachelor and Master's degrees. Over the years they lived in Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska where he was a high school principal and she worked as a secretary. In 1979 he retired and they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas where they worked until 1991. Jeanette had 3 goals when she retired and was able to accomplish all of them: She read the bible completely, put all of the family photos in albums and was able visit all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Holland, and! the Caribbean. They continued to live in Bella Vista Retirement Village composed of 36,000 acres and had wonderful retirement years, enjoying the facilities such as golf courses, lakes, clubs, traveling, Arkansas University basketball games and having people visit. Dan passed away in November 2000 after months of illness. They were married for more than 54 years. In December 2000 Jeanette decided to make the move to Las Cruces and live at Las Cruces Good Samaritan Village. She never regretted making this decision as living here gave her a great sense of security in all areas of her life. She continued to travel which she really enjoyed. Jeanette and Dan had a daughter who died at birth. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Hine, who lives in Las Cruces and a son, Steven and his wife Susan who live in Washington, DC; A granddaughter, Heather, and 2 great grandchildren, Joshua and Heidi, who live in Las Cruces. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on December 20, 2010 at Good Samaritan Village Auditorium.
