Barbara was born to Joseph M. Luton and Barbara Crittenden on May 1, 1926 in Gillette, Wyoming. In her early 20's she and her mother came to Arizona by bus from Wyoming pulling off layers of clothing the closer they go to Arizona. Barbara worked for Mountain Bell in Douglas, AZ. She met her future husband Les Floyd when her girlfriend talked her into going out on Christmas Eve. 14 days later they married January 7, 1950. Her travels took her to Germany, Arizona, Texas, and finally back to Douglas, AZ for approximately 40 plus years. Barbara was a long standing member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church - involved with many rummage sales. She also belonged to The Order of the Eastern Star - Pearl of Venus Chapter #6. She worked in many of the school cafeterias in Douglas as a cook and baker, transporting food from one school to another. Barbara was also proud of her Cherokee heritage. For the last 5 years of her life she had made Las Cruces her home living with her daughter Jeanette favorite son in law Terrell. She is survived by her children Clay Floyd and Jeanette Gresham and favorite 4 grandchildren, Tyrell (Venisa), Cheylan (Jennifer) Gresham. Chris (Caleb) Floyd and 2 great grand children Kory, Haylie Gresham. She was preceded in death by her husband Les Floyd, Parents siblings Henry, Kenneth, Lavina, Geneva, Helen. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday December 9, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday December 10, 2010 at St Andrew's Episcopal Church with Rev. Daniel Cave Officiating. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery.
