Kimball, 101, passed away at Mountain View Regional Medical Center on November 29th, 2019. He was born in Medicine Lodge, Kansas on July 13th, 1909, the fourth son of Edward and Katie (Arterburn) Kimball. Paul was a retired Santa Fe railroad brakeman/conductor and a member of The United Transportation Union. He was a 76 year member of Bethesda Lodge 64 AF&AM, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Royal Arch Masons, and the Knights Templar. Prior to going to work for Santa Fe RR, Paul worked at many jobs including farm hand, oil field roustabout, a paper hanger and painter in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. He also worked for the US Post Office and was a member of the Civil Conversation Corp in 1934 working in Minnesota. After retiring to TorC, he became well known for his dancing ability. He could be found almost every day at the golf course, if you got there early, as his was the first group to tee off! He was active in several local churches, including the First United Methodist Church, Church of the Butte, as well as First Baptist Church. He always had a smile and a friendly word to all he met. He will be missed by all who came into contact with him. He is survived by his three sons, Gene (Nancy), of Pass Christian, Mississippi, Jim (Wendy), of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Jack of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; step-daughter Sylvia Schlaht and family of Burke, South Dakota; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, special friend Lena Walker, several nieces and nephews, and many other friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Millard, Virgil, and Orville; his first wife, Mary Willan Kimball, in 1972; and his second wife, Mary Iler Kimball, in 1998. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Truth or Consequences with Rev. Gene Kimball and Rev. Dudley Bristow officiating with Karen Bristow as pianist. For those who prefer, memorial contributions in Paul's memory may be sent to the charity of your choice. Inurnment will be in the Sandia Memory Gardens Cemetery in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Arrangements are by Kirikos Family Funeral Home, Inc.
