She was born December 17, 1932 in El Paso, Texas. In her younger years she raised our family, volunteered as a catechism teacher, cub scouts den mother, avid sports fan of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Edna is survived by her sons Paul (Nora) Fierro of Las Cruces, Steven Fierro of San Jose, California and daughter Mary L. (Frank) Montoya of Tempe, AZ., grandchildren Phillip, Aaron, Victoria Fierro, Olivia, Annalise and Sophia Montoya. Other survivors include numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Patrick, husband Candido (Candy) and grandson Ryan Fierro. Serving as casket bearers will be her grandsons Phillip and Aaron Fierro, nephews Hipolito (Jr.) and Orlando Fierro, cousin John Herrera and her very special friend Albert Gonzales. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 PM Monday, February 7, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home and a prayer vigil will follow at 7PM. We will join to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10 AM Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda, with Msgr. John E. Anderson P.A. officiating. The rite of committal will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho Ave. We give a much appreciated "Thank You" to the special angel, Patty Vilarde-Rushing and her great staff at Madeira Villa that cared for our mother over the past year.
