Mario was born in Juárez on July 26, 1964 and immigrated to the United States at a young age. He moved to Minnesota as a teenager to receive cancer treatments. He met and married his wife there in 1995. They moved to Wisconsin and lived there until 2007 when they moved to Las Cruces. Mario's joy for his whole life has been the Lord and he was the happiest when he could be telling others about our Savior. He began studying for the ministry in 1996 and he achieved his goal to be an ordained pastor in July of 2010. He was called by Mission Lutheran Church, Las Cruces to be missionary to the Hispanics of Las Cruces and to pastor the Hispanic Mission, Rey de Reyes. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 15 years, Suzanne "Sue" (Toepke) Lozano; two sons, Emiliano and Antonio Lozano; one daughter, Melody Lozano; a great-niece and ward, Maricella Lozano; his mother, Maria Guadalupe Lozano Soto; two brothers, Raúl Vicente Lozano of Juárez, Sergio Anselmo Lozano and his wife Georgette of St.Paul, MN; 5 nieces, 4 nephews, 8 other great nieces and nephews; one uncle and aunt; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by two aunts and a cousin. Memorials can be given to "Mission Lutheran Church - Rey de Reyes" or "Lutheran Hispanic Missionary Institute" in his honor. The Lozano family would like to thank Dr. Bishnu Rauth for the expert, caring treatment and care given. Also, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped with his care and with the care of his family, particularly the members of Mission Lutheran Church. Flowers for the funeral will be provided by Flowerama. Visitation will be held at Mission Lutheran Church on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and with a funeral service on Monday, February 21, 2011 at the church at 10:00 A.M..
