Born in Las Cruces, July 30, 1932 to G. Adlai Feather and Ilka Howells Feather, she grew up in Mesilla Park and graduated from Las Cruces Union High School in 1949. Following her graduation from Mills College in Oakland, California in 1953, she met her future husband, George Sydney Anderson, while sailing to Europe. They were married in May 1955 and spent their married life in England. Gertrude was an avid golfer, an amazing cook and an intrepid traveler. She also loved gardening and quilting. She is survived by her daughter, Jenny and husband Lew Goodpasture of Las Cruces and their children Megan and Steven Minter; her son Vincent and wife Tracy of Upland, California and their children Christopher, Miles and Julia Anderson; her son Michael Anderson of Eye, England; her sister-in-law, Virginia Feather of Albuquerque and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband George, sisters Ilka and Mary, and brother, Frank. Cremation has taken place and services will be held in Colchester, England at a later date.
