Yssella was born on May 11th, 1979, to Maria Elena Rodriguez and Lionel Medrano in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Yssella graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1997 and became a Crimson Scholar at New Mexico State University. She gave birth to a son, Brian Brannan Jr., in 2001 who was born prematurely. Due to the experience, she devoted her life to the medical field helping others as they had helped her son. Over the past 8 years, Yssella lived with her husband, and son in the San Francisco Bay area. For four years, she worked as an orthopedic surgeon's assistant in San Mateo, California. Yssella was married to the love of her life, Brian Brannan and attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pacifica, California. Above all her accomplishments, her greatest was being a mother; she was a devoted wife and mother. She inspired those who loved her most. With her signature long hair and long eye lashes, she was beautiful inside and out. She is survived by her husband, Brian Brannan, son, Brian Brannan Jr., step-daughter, Celeste Brannan, mother, Maria Elena Rodriguez Medrano, father, Lionel Medrano, sisters; Melissa Medrano, and Marci Medrano, brother, Leo Medrano, all of Las Cruces. Other survivors include; grandmother, Emma Arvizo of San Miguel, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The memorial service is being held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 2915 East Idaho Avenue 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26th.
