She was born May 4, 1928 in Lincoln, New Mexico. Frances worked as a housekeeper for the Palms Hotel for many years and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons; Orlando Frietze (Hilda) of San Antonio, Texas, Joseph Frietze and Van Frietze both of Las Cruces; two daughters, Mary Frietze Huerta (Raul) of Albuquerque and Monica Atkins (Robert) of Des Moines, Iowa. Other survivors include one brother, Luis Zamora of Florida; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joe Butler in l999, son, Harley Frietze, and a brother, Orlando Zamora. Calling hours will begin at 10 AM Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 10:30 AM and the Funeral Service to follow immediately thereafter with the Reverend Don Adamski officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 Picacho where she will be laid to rest.
