He was born to Trinidad and Elena Benavidez on April 21, 1953 in Las Cruces, NM. Johnny's last employment was with Acme Brick Co. of El Paso, TX where he was more than glad to wake up in the morning to perform his job. He could not have asked for a better employer as well as his wonderful co-worker who in return appreciated him for his big smile and wonderful personality which did not go unnoticed. Johnny recently joined his children in attending Sunday services at Abundant Life Church. He is survived by the love of his life, Patricia Ann Benavidez (wife), one son: Johnny Benavidez (Denise Cortez). Two daughters; Bernice Montoya (Manuel), Lynda Montalvo (Joel), 3 Brothers; David Benavidez (Rommie) Sammy Benavidez, Ricky Benavidez, 6 Sisters; Margaret Spedalieri (Abel), Minerva Ordonez (Carlos), Mary Benavidez. Gloria Perez, Alice Arenas (Ricardo), Yolanda Perez (Thomas), 13 ! Grandchildren; Mark Benavidez (Ashley Padilla), Serina Mancha, Regina Benavidez, Adam Torres, Syerra Benavidez, Lonnie Montalvo, Sheyenne Montoya, Johnny Benavidez III , Yzabella Benavidez, Anastacia Montoya, Tasia Mancha, Aubrey Benavidez, Alexandria Benavidez and 5 Great-Grandchildren; Hilario Jimenez, Angelina Benavidez, Elijah Jimenez, Aalyah Benavidez, Jessiah Benavidez. He was preceded in death by his parents Trinidad and Elena Benavidez, Son Adam Benavidez, His Grandson Jesse Angel Torres, Great Grandsons Angel and Julian Torres and several other beloved relatives. Services will take place in the chapel of La Paz-Grahams Funeral Home on Monday February 14, 2011 at 1:00pm. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery directly following the service. Officiating the service will be Pastors, Jim Pinkard of Abundant Life Church and Saul Gonzales of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Pallbearers are David Benavidez, Ricky Benavidez, Johnny Benavidez Jr., Mark Benavidez, Manuel Montoya and Joel Montalvo Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Adam Torres, Lonnie Montalvo, Johnny Benavidez III, Raul Padilla, Fred Padilla, Douglas Padilla, Jr. Rico and Jessie Rico Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend will be missed and remembered for his beautiful smile and kind loving heart. He loved to spend his time praising the Lord by singing and playing guitars up until his last strain of strength. He was always willing to help out his children, grandchildren and anyone who was in need. Johnny touched the lives of so many people which was evident in his time of need. He will always be remembered as a hard working servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We all love and miss him dearly.
