York home on Thurs., Feb. 20, 2003. She was proud to be a native New Mexican born to a pioneer family. Her grandparents came to New Mexico in 1901. She was born in Mesquite, NM on March 8, 1924 to Sul Ross and Alice Watson. Her young years were spent on a farm in Arrey, NM and later her dad was a deputy marshal in Santa Rita, NM. She met the manager of the movie theater in downtown Santa Rita and was married to Andy Ray York for 36 years until his death in 1981. She was an accomplished arties with bule ribbons for her work in oils, she enjoyed quilting, ceramics, was a past Worthy Grand Matron with the Santa Rita Order of the Eastern Star. The Santa Rita rainbow Assembly #47 enjoyed her many years of serving as their Rainbow Mom. She loved to and could catcha fish with the best of em. Survived by her son Terry R. York and wife Cathy of Ft. Worth, TX. Their son Kyle Parker of Easley, SC. Her grandaughter Trisha and John Choins of Waco, TX. and great-granddaughters, Raelee and Kay-Lynn Choins. Her daughter Linda Y. Hanson of Las Cruces, granddaughter, Tamara L. Everard-Smith and Byron of Corpus Christi, TX. GranddaughterTanya Henson and Garret of Owatonna, MN and their son, her great-grandson Samuel Henson. Her favorite cousin Sonny and Betty Fritz of Socorro, NM, her sister Ernestine Veater of Cannonsburg, PA, sister in law Fay Hunter and family of Globe, AZ and other nieces, nephews extended family and friends. Her cremains are to be entered in the Old Georgetown, NM Cemetery. Arrangements by Getz Funeral Home, corner of Solano and Bowman Ave. Las Cruces, NM 575-526-2419.
