Feb. 18, 2003 at home. He was born on Jan. 14, 1936 in the home of his parents, Clifford B. and Ruth Gann Fleming, in Hill, NM. Bill finished high school in Las Cruces, graduating in the class of 1954. He completed two semesters in the College of Engineering at NMSU before being called to active duty in the U.S.Navy. He served approzimatly two years aboard the aircraft carrier USS Shangri La (CVA38). During this time, he completed two Far East cruises to the Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong and other ports of CAll. He was honorably discharged Oct. 7, 1957. Bill returned to college, majoring in electrical and mechanical engineering before moving to Phoenix, AZ where he worked for General Electric Co. Computer Div., from Jan. 1960-June 1961. He returned to the NMSU College of Engineering in 1961. He met Sandra Little and they were married Nov. 20, 1962. Bill received bachelor's degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in 1963 and 1964 from NMSU. Member of Pi Tau Sigma, Blue Key, Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, AIEE-IRE student barnch, ASME student branch, AIAA student branch and Associated Students Publication. Preceded in death by his parents, Clifford B. and Ruth Gann Felming. Survivors: wife of 40 years, Sandra of the family home; four children, Victoria McKight of Phoenix AZ, Scott (DeeDee) fleming of Farmington, NM, and Cary (Wendy) Fleming of Lonsdale, MN, and Tricia (Shad) Cox of Corona, NM; nine granchildren, Kris McKnight, Barbara McKnight, Justin Fleming, Cutler Cox, Brandon Fleming, Jake Fleming, Bekah Fleming, Conner Cox and Cabel Cox. His brother, Charles (Norma) Fleming of Phoenix, AZ and two sisters, Juanita (Walt) Harmon and Barbara (Rex) Worrell of Granbury, TX and three nieces and one nephew also survive him.
