He was born Dec. 8, 1929 in Alamogordo, NM to Ramon Rodarte Roman and Natalia Lira Rayos. Ramon was a long time parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a bricklayer and with the help of his brothers built the family home in Alamogordo. He taught his sons his trade but always encouraged education and strong work ethics. He was an avid deer hunter, and shared this passion with his children. His sons, daughter, and grandson accompanied him in hunting, creating a special bond. At times, his daughters participated in target shooting. There will always be a special place off of West Side road that holds fond memories. He labored hard for those he loved then left us to remember. Ramon was preceded in death by his loving wife Rebecca Roman, his son Ricardo Roman, his parents, his siblings Ignacio, Paulina, Pedro, Francisca, Julian, Juanita, Petra, Felisa and J! esus. Surviving him are his children Fernando Roman and wife Sandy, Reyne Roman and wife Anna, Ramon Roman III and wife Donna, Edwina Roman, Elena Roman and husband Alan Schroeder and Esther Roman; 11 grandchildren Debra Ann Daves and husband Rick, Fernando Roman Jr. and wife Yvonne, Erich Roman, Raquel Roman, Roman Gabriel Roman, Sarah Skye Roman-Quezada, Riley Roman, Crista Simmons, Jeremy Romanž Dakoda Barnes, Desiree Stewart and by 7 great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 PM on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Alamogordo, NM with a Memorial Mass to celebrate Ramon's life following at 2:00 PM with Fr. Juan Montoya officiating. Flowers may be sent to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association New Mexico Chapter, 101 N. Alameda, Las Cruces, NM 88005 (575) 647-3868. "It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for part of me went with you, the day God called you ! home."
