Galindo, 55, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Saturday, April 17, 2010 at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. He was born December 16, 1954 to Jose and Aurora (Diaz) Galindo in Silver City, NM. He retired from Chino Mines and was President of United Steelworkers of America Local 890, International Staff Rep. for United Steelworkers of America, Grant County Commissioner, a Knight of Columbus fourth degree and he was a cursillista. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Elena of the family home; three sons, Armando Galindo and fiancé Victoria Gomez of Silver City; James Galindo and fiancé Victoria Sanchez of Silver City; Joshua Galindo and fiancé Jaclynn Holguin of Silver City; one daughter, Amber Galindo Gnader (Dustin) of Silver City; two brothers, Manuel Galindo (Teresa) of Las Cruces; Robert Galindo (Ramona) of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Armando III, Adriana, Gabriel, Alyssa, James Jr., and Dustin Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Faustino Galindo and grandson, Vincent Gnader. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 21st from 3-7pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil to begin at 7pm with Deacon Bill Holguin reciting the vigil service and holy rosary. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, April 22nd at 10am at St. Francis Newman Center with Father Marcos Reyna officiating. The interment will follow at St. Vincent Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pat Torres, Alfred Portillo, Joe Tafoya, Frank Silva, Theodoro Martinez and Bobby Morales. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby "Gonzy" Gonzales.
