Cecile was the thirteenth child born to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Mayfield in MIss, Oct. 17, 1912. The Mayfield family moved to the Las Cruces area in 1924 to farm and teach school. Cecile graduated from Las Cruces Union High School and then studied at a business college in El Paso, tX. She and her fmaily were active pioneer members of the Las Cruces First Baptish Church where she met her future husband, Jimmie Prichard. They were married in 1932 following a four year courtship and celebrated their 70th anniversary this past March. Cecile and Jimmie were active members of this community working mainly in farming and real estate. Cecile was active in many music groups and auxiliary organizations with in her church and community. The Prichards travedled extensively, always mentioning upon their return home, a deep love for the Mesilla Valley, and their friends and family. Cecilewas deeply pround and reamined involved with her large family. Although spread across the country, she organized and participated in many family reunions. She loved to gather her family and friends together for large meals and fellowhip. Cecile is now reunited with her husband, Jimmie Prichard who died 3 months ago. She will be remembered for her love of life, sense of humor; deep religious faith and commitment to her family. Surviros are her only child, Dr. J. T. (Skip) Prichard, D.V.M. and his companion Samette Gilbert of Las Cruces, grandson, Troy Prichard and his wife Leslie of Albuquerque and their four children, Briaun, Brishel, Jacob and Brooke, grandson Bruce Prichard and his wife Jennifer of Las Cruces and their two son, Joshua and Chase. Memorial service held Tue. Feb. 25, 2003 at The First Baptish Church of Las Cruces. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
