Born on August 21, 1922, in Regina, New Mexico, Audie was the second of five children of George Benton Wasson and Jonnie Lera Hannah Wasson. She married Elmo Lloyd Robinson Sr. on February 1, 1962. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full-time mission with her husband for the Church in Monterey, Chihuahua, Mexico. Audie lived in various places throughout her life including New Mexico, California, Alaska, Texas, Idaho, Arizona, Puerto Rico, New Jersey, Viet Nam, South Carolina, and Mexico, and was a traveler in Canada, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Hawaii, Thailand, the Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands and numerous places throughout the United States. Audie enjoyed ballroom dancing, square dancing, quilting, crocheting and needlework, sewing, gardening and especially reading Louis L'Amour novels. Audie is survived by her children: Patricia Baker (Terry), Dennis Hart (Robin), Elmo Robinson Jr. (Patricia), Ethel Hawkes, Jonnie Holland (James), Nancy Ballard (Blaine), Jean Michel (Scott), Ted Robinson (Alexa), and Janis Hart. Audie had 54 grandchildren, over 100 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her Aunt Alex Sorrell and many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Loved ones who predeceased her include her husband, Elmo Lloyd Robinson Sr., beloved and known to her as "her Robby," her sons Kenneth Benton Hart and Christen Lambert Robinson, her son-in-law Thomas Alvin Hawkes, her parents George Benton Wasson and Jonnie Lera Wasson, her brothers William "Billy" Wasson and Paul Wasson, her sisters Jean DeVillez and Daina Wasson. A viewing is to be held from 2:00 to 2:40 p.m. with the funeral following at 3:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located 3210 Venus Street in Las Cruces. Interment thereafter will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch, New Mexico. The family expresses deep appreciation to the staff of the Aristocrat, Casa De Oro and La Posado for their loving and gentle care of our mother.
