He was preceded in death by his father Edgar and mother Julie (Fillipo), brothers John and Jack, and sister Mary Belle Knarr. Born on March 27, 1921 in Cincinnati, OH. He served in the USAF from 1940-1943, then attended college at Xavier, Montana State and Western NIVI where he received his undergraduate degree in education. He also received a masters degree in education (specializing in science) from Texas A & M. He taught science and math in the Las Cruces Publis Schools (Alameda Jr. High, Lynn Jr. High and Las Cruces High School) for 30 years. At the schools he was ver active in extracurricular activities such as sponsoring the archery and science clubs. Mr. Fields is survived by his wife Hope of Las Cruces (recently celebrating their 55th anniversary); four children, Rod Fields (Gerri) of Las Cruces, Tim Fields (Jane) of Albuquerque, John Fields (Pearl) of Austin, TX eight grandchildren, Jennifer Hecker Prescott (Roger) of Rockport, MA, Kari Hecker (Terry Scofield) of Albuquerque, Claire Fields of Albuquerque, Steven Fields of Las Cruces, Marshall and April Fields of Austin, TX, Lauren and kirk Fields of Albuquerque; siters, Elizabeth Hinzman and Alice Linneman. He also earned a private pilots license and was active in a local fight club. He wrote a daily journal, volunteered in the Vita Tax Progran for seniors, tutored students in math.
