HERNANDEZ, 87, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Casa Del Sol Senior Care Center. He was born October 2, 1922 in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Tomas and Francisca Romo Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez retired as a farm laborer and was a member of Centro Cristiano Palabra de Fe. Survivors include his loving wife, Francisca Calixtro Hernandez of the family home; four sons, Jesus Hernandez of Tucson, Arizona, Tomas Hernandez, Jorge Hernandez and wife Norma all of Las Cruces, Angel Hernandez and wife Rosa of Sacramento, California; two daughters, Lydia Contreras and husband Humberto, Josefina Sanchez and husband Freddie all of Las Cruces; a daughter-in-law, Graciela L. Hernandez also of Las Cruces. Other survivors include thirty-three grandchildren; sixty great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Antonio Hernandez; three sisters, Francisca Lopez, Guadalupe Campos and Carmen Rodriguez. Visitation for Mr. Hernandez will begin at 6 PM Thursday, April 22, 2010 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Evening Service is scheduled for 7 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM Friday, April 23, 2010 in the same chapel with Pastor Jose Hernandez officiating. Concluding Service and Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Noel Contreras, Daniel, T.C., Luis Armando, Michael and Jeremias Hernandez. Honorary bearers will be Mauricio and Chris Hernandez and Javier Flores.
