Trautvetter, 90, of Las Cruces, NM passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. William was born in Paterson, NJ on October 16, 1919 to William and Bertha Trautvetter. He served in the US Army in WWII as a Physical Training Instructor and then with the Occupation Forces in Italy. He retired as Captain of the US Army Reserves. He was also a member of the Reserve Officers Ass. He married in 1944, the artist, Selma G. Trautvetter. William was also Vice President and Plant Manager for US Mineral Products, in Stanhope, NJ for most of his career. He was also a Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Newton, NJ. He was an avid golfer, almost up until his 90th birthday, on the course at NMSU where he enjoyed time with his friends and an occasional "hole in one." William was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Masons Lodges in Newton, NJ and Las Cruces, NM. He is survived by daughter Dorothy Maurer of Alamosa, CO, son William E. Trautvetter of Newport, RI, brothers Paul Trautvetter of Asheville, NC, and Robert Trautvetter of Gaithersburg, MD, grandchildren; Anne Rose Maurer of Ft. Collins, CO, Torrence Maurer of Alamosa, CO, Sarah A. Trautvetter of Baltimore, MD, and Clare B. Trautvetter of Venice, CA.
