She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Bill, her parents and one sister. Marge will be lovingly missed by six children: Bill Brack III (Marina) of Germany, Pat Cantwell (Larry) of Portales, Bob Brack (Sheila) of Las Cruces, Kathie Burnside (Greg) of Edmonds WA, Brian Brack (Jennifer) of Albuquerque, and Bill Munster (Phyllis) of Bend OR., sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Marge grew up running in the woods and swimming in the ocean and marshes in Grays Harbor, WA. Her greatest adventure began when she met a "big sailor" at a USO dance in Seattle in 1945. After seven dates in ten days, she accepted his marriage proposal. After his return from the war in the Pacific, they married and moved to Los Angeles. Bill's career with the Santa Fe Railroad took them to Chicago, Clovis, and back to Chicago. They retired to Clovis in 1978. In the years prior to her husband's death in 2000, they loved to travel. In 2004, Marge moved to Las Cruces. Marge was a passionate reader, an intellectual, a spirited debater - and a mean poker player. She had a quiet faith that she instilled in her children. She was a cheerleader, supporter, and defender of her husband. Their faith sustained them through debilitating arthritis, cancer, and all of life's obstacles. She taught us how to love God, our spouses, and our children. She was a lady in the truest sense of the wor! d and was, at the same time, tough as nails. maybe from swimming in 50 degree water in Washington. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Fr. Carlos Chavez, Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 10:30 am. Her grandsons will serve as honorary pall bearers. Internment will follow the Mass at Lawnhaven Cemetery with arrangements by Muffley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, a fund has been set up at the Good Samaritan Society, Las Cruces Village, to place Bibles in each resident's room. Services have been entrusted to the care of La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home 555 West Amador, Las Cruces NM 88005 Published in Las Cruces Sun-News on April 1, 2011 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
