She was born August 22, 1950 in Springfield, Colorado to Walter Lee and Lavonne June Rutter Van Winkle. At the time of her death, Sheryl was employed at Wal-Mart Super Center. Those left to mourn her passing include her loving companion, Jack Richmond of the family home; her mother, Lavonne Van Winkle of Las Cruces; a brother, Venton Van Winkle of Apache Junction, Arizona; three sisters, Peggy Brock, Patricia Miller (Robert) all of Las Cruces, Melissa Cahoon (Joel) of Livingston, Montana. Other survivors include her dear friend, Daniel Murphy of Dallas, Texas; her nieces and nephews, Candy, Lindy, Stephanie, Eric, Shannon, Dennis, Kristen, Nicole, Elizabeth and Jamie; numerous great nieces and nephews; her beloved cats, China, Ginger and Flower. She was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Dennis Van Winkle. As per Sheryl's request cremation will take place and no services are scheduled. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of your choice. Sheryl was truly loved by her family, especially the nieces and nephews who meant so much to her. Her children were her beloved cats. Sheryl possessed the most wonderful sense of humor and could bring a smile to everyone's day. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
