Naturalized U.S. citizen in Las Cruces, NM, July 1998. Parents were Jose Angel Maturino Gonzalez and Maria del Refugio Maturino Manzanera. We sadly announce the passing of our father on Monday, March 14, 2011, whose soul is now in the glory and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, along with his loving family that have passed away. Those included are his spouse, and lifetime friend our mother Soledad Garcia Maturino, his parents, all six brothers and one sister, (Andres, Jose Pillar, Flavio, Sixto, Bartolo, Pedro and children Jose, Roman, Juanita de las Mercedes and Jose Samuel. Our father, Jose was the last surviving member of his family and will be missed by friends, neighbors and family members including the majority of his nieces and nephews, whom cherished his guidance, wisdom, wit and gentle manner in which he lived his life. Of all his achievements, his children and family were to him his best treasures after God, In his youth, he worked for his parents in the family ranch, farming, raising livestock and breaking wild stallions for the use of the ranchlands in Durango, Mexico. Dad worked in the migrant program part of the Brazero Worker Program during the early 1950's in various states. He immigrated with his entire family in September of 1956. He lived and worked in Oklahoma City, OK. with the Catholic Diocese as a printer. Late summer of 1958, the family moved to the Mesilla Valley and settled permanently in Las Cruces. He worked as a home construction worker, brick layer, cement and in heavy road construction throughout the entire state of! NM and Texas, helping build the roads and highways that are part of the state's infrastucture. Between 1961 and 1962 he came to know the Lord Jesus as his savior and started attending services at the Pentecostal Assembly of God Chruch, first in El Paso, TX then in Las Cruces, NM until his passing. Surviving family members are sons and daughters; Miguel (Phoebe), Diego, Catalina, Isidro, Jose de Jesus, Maria del Refugio, Rosario Carrejo (Nick), Elvia Ester. Grandchildren; Michelle Yvette M. Beaty (Charlie, Christian, Selah Jordan Beaty), Miguel Jr. (Jesse Michael, Katie Marie), Sarah Elizabeth (Daisy), Marcela Ogle (Julio Chavez, Eian Winthrop, Julian Chavez), Jerry Ogle & (children), Verena Rey (Neven Jerod Faquar, Alisandra Lynn, Adriana Mia Maturino) Naomi Lara and children, Christi-Lorene M. Byron (Eric Gamboa, Dominik Byron-Gamboa, Natalie Rene Gamboa), Evan Carrejo, Andrea M. Garcia, Jacob Isreal M. Escalante, Brandi Jo Spence Maturino. Pall bearers will be: Nick Carrejo, Evan Carrejo, Reynaldo Granados Sr., Reynaldo Granados, Jr.,Miguel Maturino, Sergio Maturino, Honorary pallbearers: Diego Maturino, Isidro Maturino, Luis Maturino. Services will be directed by La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Templo Monte Sion, 100 S. Melendres, officated by Rev. Efrain and Raquel Funes. Visitation from 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. with funeral services at 10:00 A.M.. Burial services to follow at Dona Ana Cemetery, 108 County Road, past the Dona Ana Elementary and in between the Fire Station in Dona Ana.
