She was born January 17, 1933 in Laredo, Texas to Ramon and Emilia Gutierrez Palacios. Mrs. Sanchez was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include four sons, Luis Sanchez, Jr., of Las Cruces, Robert Sanchez of San Francisco, California, George Sanchez of El Paso, Texas and Rudy Sanchez of Las Cruces; two daughters, Emma Martinez of Phoenix, Arizona and Linda Sandoval of Las Cruces. Other survivors include two sisters, Delfina Granado of Las Cruces and Domitila Hernandez of Chicago, Illinois; twelve grandchildren and a special niece, Dalia Tapia as well as many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Luis A. Sanchez and a brother, Raymundo Palacios. Cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, April 8, 2011 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road. Inurnment of cremains will follow immediately thereafter at St. Joseph Cemetery. Entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels and Baca's Sunset Crematory of Las Cruces.
