He was born in Silver City, NM on August 11th, 1959. He attended Silver City High School and graduated from NMSU in 1982. Carl married his wife, Sharon N. Moore on May 14th, 1983 at Anthony United Methodist Church. After working in the financial industry, he traded his suits and ties for Wranglers and cottonseed. Carl joined his father-in-law, Joe A. Nelson, in farming the New Mexican land, coaxing life out of soil for twenty years. He served as a member of the National Cotton Council of America and was Producer and Member Representative for the New Mexico Cotton Council. Carl also served on the Board of Directors for the Mesa Farmers Gin. He shared his wealth of produce with any neighbor that would allow their yard and home to be overwhelmed with onions, pecans, pumpkins and chilies. Each Christmas he decorated his neighborhood with luminarias, sharing the joy of his favorite season. Very much to the del! ight of his children, Carl was known to bring home all sorts of critters, from guppies and puppies to calves and bunnies. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his three children, Lindsay, Kelly and Kyle Moore; his mother, Shirley M. Moore; his brothers, Fred and Gary Moore; and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service Friday, April 1st, 2011 at 1 pm, at Anthony United Methodist Church, 101 Franklin Street, Anthony, TX. Donations may be made to La Mariposa Hospice at Providence Hospital in El Paso, TX. Carl's wife and children extend their deepest gratitude to every friend, family member, nurse and doctor who brought such joy to him during his last days. Sharon, Lindsay, Kelly and Kyle treasure your friendship, love and devotion.
