Pete was born October 22, 1947 in Las Cruces, New Mexico and was raised in La Mesa, New Mexico. He was born to Pedro Jimenez, Sr. and Reyes Jimenez of La Mesa, New Mexico. Pete proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, he was the reciepient of several Vietnam Service Medals and Bronze Service Stars, as he was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 3242 where he enjoyed reminiscing and spending time with his veteran friends. He was a very caring and loving father, husband, brother, grandfather and uncle. He will be dearly missed and will forever be in our hearts. Survivors include his two daughters; Martie Jimenez and husband Samuel Sr., Christina Toombs and husband Bruce all of Las Cruces; one sister Esperanza Jimenez of Vado; two brothers; Roberto Segobia and wife Chelo of Anthony, New Mexico and Arturo Jimenez and wife Angie of San Pablo. Other survivors include two grandsons; Eric Jimenez who he fondly called "Sexy Beast", Sammy Jr. whom he called "El Chiquito", and one granddaughter; Angelique Jimenez his "Pebbles", also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, his wife and one sister. Visitation for Mr. Pete Jimenez will begin at 6:00 P.M., Friday, April 15, 2011 at La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home Chapel where the evening service is scheduled to begin at 7:00 P.M.. The funeral service will be held at10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 16, 2011 at San Jose Catholic Church in La Mesa, New Mexico. Concluding service and internment will follow at La Mesa Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as pallbearers will be Arturo Jimenez, Orlando Jimenez, Samuel Villanueva Sr., Evaristo Montes, Roberto Valdez and Frank Barela. Honorary pallbearers are as follows; Eric Jimenez, Sammy Villanueva Jr., Bruce Toombs, Ramon Segobia and TJ Peña.
