Porter-Bess, 62, Deming resident passed away Wednesday April 6, 2011 at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. Visitation will begin Monday evening at 5 o'clock at the New Life Apostolic Church with an evening service at 7 o'clock. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning April 19, 2011 at 10 o'clock at the New Life Apostolic Church with Pastor Fernando Carreon officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Mary Esther was born October 30, 1948 to Emma Chavez and Rafael G. Flores in Deming. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Life Apostolic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose contagious smile was enjoyed by everyone. Survivors include her husband, James T. Bess of the home; 2 sons, Billy and Jesus Porter Jr. both of Deming; 4 daughters, Julie Collins and husband Jeff, Diane Porter and fiancé Danny Garces all of Las Cruces, Sonya Granado, Mary Ruiz and husband Robert Nick all of Deming; 2 brothers, Rafael Flores Jr. and wife Ramona of Deming, Johnny Flores of Dallas, Texas; 4 sisters, Ernestina Chavez, Anita Carreon and husband Fernando Virginia Escarciga and Patsy Flores all of Deming and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Jesus Porter, a son, Anthony Porter and a brother, Enrique Flores. Pallbearers will be Joe Flores Jr., Modesto Jr. Martinez, Eugene Martinez, Danny Garces, Jesus Jr. Porter and John A. Ordonez. Honorary bearer will be Frankie Ortiz.
