Magallanez, 50, of Albuquerque on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Vista Care Hospice - Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque. He was born March 22, 1960 in East Chicago, Indiana to Salvador A. and Maria S. Magallanez. Felipe was raised in Hammond, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University in 1983 and settled in Albuquerque where he resided over the past 25 years. He loved his Alma Mater, serving as past President and charter member of the Albuquerque area Purdue Alumni Association. He was an active volunteer in Albuquerque at major bowling tournaments, worked and volunteered at countless basketball and volleyball tournaments as a scorekeeper, both with the school district and within the community. He was also a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Albuquerque. Those left to mourn his passing include four brothers, Eduardo Magallanez of San Antonio, Texas, Salvador Magallanez and wife Patricia of San Diego, California, Daniel Magallanes and wife Marissa of Chandler, Arizona; Antonio Magallanez and wife Malissa of San Jose, California; two sisters, Irene Magallanez and husband Paul Hughes of Albuquerque, Anna Delia Magallanez of Waldorf, Maryland; a brother-in-law, Marcos Montes of Waldorf, Maryland.
