She was born December 10, 1933 in Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose Francisco Mejia and Rafaela Gomez. She was a homemaker and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include her sons and daughters, Maria Guadalupe Vasquez, Maria del Carmen Esparza, Irene Isabel Vasquez, Sylvia Rodríguez, Martin Vasquez, Jose Manuel Vasquez, Guadalupe Vasquez, Blanca Estella Vasquez, Juan de Dios Vasquez and Pablo Vasquez all of Anthony. Other survivors include 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Candelario Vasquez, her parents, one brother and one sister. Visitation for Mrs. Vasquez will begin at 6 PM, Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Anthony, where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM, Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in the same church. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Anthony Catholic Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be David Vasquez, Ricardo Rodriguez, Alex Esparza, Miguel Gonzalez, Pablo Vasquez and Martin Vasquez, Jr. Service arrangements have been entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E.
