He will always be remembered for his passion in mechanics and drag racing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with his family, quad riding, and anything outdoors. He loved his family more than anything in life. We will never forget his great sense of humor and how he always found a way to make everyone laugh. He was a man of all trades from diesel mechanics to cooking. No matter what it was he always took great pride and joy in each and everything that he did. He impacted each and every person's life that he came across. He always offered a lending hand to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed, loved, and adored. He is survived by his loving wife, Roxanne Alvarado of the family home; four sons, Corey Jacob Montoya of Hurley; Nicholas Eugene Montoya of Hurley; Joseph Daniel Montoya of Arenas Valley; Robert Anthony Montoya of Arenas Valley; two daughters, Ashley Marie Montoya of Arenas Valley; Annette Christine Montoya also of Arenas Valley; his parents, Eddy Ray Montoya of Mimbres and Juleen Montoya of Las Cruces; one brother, David Eloy Montoya and wife Lucy of Arenas Valley; two sisters, Debbie Montoya Perez of Mimbres; Christina Marie Montoya of Mimbres; also survived by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins, nieces and nephews; Christopher, Stephanie and John Perez (Godchildren); Meagan, Emily and Paul (Godchild) Montoya, Theresa (Godchild) Joshua, Adam Villa, Sophia, Ramon Rodriguez and David Joseph Montoya, Roman, Michael and Jason Alvarado, Kenneth and Kevin Martinez. He was preceded in death by his brother, Adam Montoya; one sister, Linda Montoya; nephew, Anthony David Montoya; cousin, Lloyd Montoya; maternal grandparents, Nora and Smiley Andazola; paternal grandparents, Amelia and Joe E. Montoya. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 5th from 4-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Deacon Bill Holguin reciting at 6pm the vigil service and holy rosary. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, January 6th at 10am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating. The interment will follow at Montoya Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David, Nicky, Cory, Jason Montoya, Robert Dominguez, Joe "Milo" Villa, Steve Grijalva, Delbert Crum and Joseph Montoya. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Andazola, Dale Arguello, Toby Rascon, Daryl Holguin, Clayton Oglesby, Christopher and John Perez, Joshua and Adam Villa and Paul and Meagan Montoya, Roman Alvarado.
