He was born February 14, 1964 in Valparaíso, Zacatecas, Mexico to Avelino and Jovita Hernandez. At the time of his death, Avelino was employed as a tour guide. Survivors include six daughters, Roxanna Guerrero of El Paso, Texas, Evelyn and Diana Guerrero of Las Cruces, Kimberly, Emily and Valentina Guerrero of Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico; his parents, Avelino and Jovita Hernandez Guerrero of Mesilla Park; three brothers, Humberto Guerrero and wife Raquel of Moreno Valley, California, Martin Guerrero and wife Alma, Javier Guerrero and wife Lily all of Las Cruces; three sisters, Rocio Quinones and husband Gerardo, Maria Lourdes Guerrero and companion, Mike Ontiveros, Blanca Wright and husband Alonso all also of Las Cruces. Other survivors include his maternal grandmother, Evangelina R. Hernandez of Boise, Idaho as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lupita Guerrero; his maternal grandfather, Emilio Hernandez and his paternal grandparents, Timoteo Guerrero and Maria Morales. Visitation for Avelino will begin at 6 PM Thursday, January 20, 2011 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Evening Service is scheduled for 7 PM. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 21, 2011 at 10 AM in the Las Cruces First Assembly of God, 5605 Bataan Memorial West with Pastor Cesar Tellez officiating. Concluding Service and Interment will follow in Missionary Ridge Cemetery in Mesquite where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Gerardo Quiñones, Alonso Wright, Humberto, Martin, Javier and Juan Guerrero.
