He was born October 28, 1956 in Ascension, Chihuahua, Mexico to Manuel and Julia Parra Martinez. Jesus was a construction laborer and member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Angelica Guadalupe Martinez of Phoenix, Arizona; a son, Alfonso Martinez of Las Cruces; two brothers, Diego Martinez and Francisco Martinez both of Las Cruces; three sisters, Maria Martinez and Luz Elena Montes both also of Las Cruces, Guadalupe Martinez of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Other survivors include three grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Blanca Nieves Martinez; a brother, Manuel Martinez. Visitation for Jesus Alonso will begin at 6 PM Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, 1178 N. Mesquite Street with the Fathers of the Augustinian Recollects officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be family members.
