Rel Sanchez, lifelong resident of Las Cruces, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Good Samaritan. She was born on August 29, 1909 in Rodey, New Mexico, was the daughter of Maria Silva and Ramon Rel. She was preceded by her husband, Pablo J. Sanchez and her youngest daughter, Mary E. Bane, son-in-law Brad Bane, and son in law Eliseo Cordero. She is survived by her daughters, Delia Cordero of Los Angeles, California, Delmira Harty, and husband Pete of Las Cruces, New Mexico and son, Fidel Sanchez and wife Rosemarie of Las Cruces, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and mother, and cherished the time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed. Interment with a private family service will be held at a later date.
