He was born May 3, 1939 in Praxedis G., Guerrero, Mexico to Modesto and Aurora Marquez Garcia. Mr. Garcia retired as a maintenance worker and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include his loving wife, Francisca Garcia of the family home; two daughters, Maria Guadalupe Garcia Zamudio of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sandra Garcia Chavarria of Arlington, Texas; two sons, Alberto Garcia of Mesquite and Modesto Garcia of San Miguel. Other survivors include two brothers, Ramon Garcia of Mesquite and Gabriel Marquez of Praxedis G., Guerrero, Chihuahua, Mexico; two sisters, Hortencia Velez of Colorado and Magdalena Garcia of California; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. Visitation for Garcia will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM, Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 2 PM, Friday, January 7, 2011 in San Miguel Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in San Miguel Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Jorge Chavarria, Joel Zamudio, Modesto Garcia, Alberto Garcia, Jorge Chavarria, Jr. and Osvaldo Lara. Entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels of Las Cruces.
