He was born July 2, 1932 in Chihuahua City, Mexico to Pablo and Angela Muñiz Olivas. Mr. Olivas was an Administrator at the Gorzeman Dairy. Survivors include his loving wife, Evangelina Vargas Olivas of the family home; three brothers, Pablo Olivas of Mesquite, Pedro Olivas of San Antonio, Texas, Luis Olivas of El Paso, Texas; five sisters, Aurelia Lueras of Long Beach, California, Maria Rodriguez and Josefina Scruggs both of El Paso, Texas, Consuelo Coley of Big Spring, Texas, and Dolores Bazue of Bellville, Illinois. Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Angela Olivas. Visitation for Mr. Olivas will begin at 5 PM Monday, January 24, 2011 in Baca's Funeral Home, 300 E. Boutz Road with a Prayer Vigil scheduled for 6 PM. A Funeral Discourse will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 6 PM in the same home with Elder Daniel Marquez presiding. Cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.
