Miriam was born in New York City on May 23, 1921. She was raised in Mount Vernon, New York by her maternal grandparents, Anna and Hyman Epstein. Miriam attended New York University and was employed until her marriage to Bernard Cutler on February 15, 1942. During her years in Mount Vernon she was very active as a member the True Sisters, a volunteer organization which contributed time and energy for cancer care. She was also a member of the Sisterhood at Sinai Temple in Mount Vernon. In her later years, Miriam and Bernie moved to Lake Worth, Florida where she became an avid golfer. Miriam is survived by her son Hyman William Cutler of Athens, Georgia, her daughter, Michele Cutler Blum and son in law Allen William Blum of Las Cruces, New Mexico. She has three grandchildren: Aaron Cutler, Amy Cutler and Jared Blum. The family would like to thank the staff of The Heritage Assisted Living for their love and dedication to our mother. Alaina, Jay and Monica were there for her every step of her journey. The kindness and caring that the staff at Mesilla Valley Hospice showed her was truly comforting. Our love and gratitude are also extended to Anita Silva, a warm, devoted young woman who cared for our mother every day since she arrived in Las Cruces. A Memorial Service will be held at Temple Bethel, 3980 Sonoma Springs Avenue on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 2:00 P.M.
