Castro, 81, on May 30, 2010. She was born March 20, 1929 in Tortugas to Alejandro and Eulogia Herrera Aragon. Mrs. Castro was a homemaker and a communicant at St. Anthony's Catholic Church where she was a Cursillista and member of the League of the Sacred Heart. Those left to mourn her passing include two sons, Alejandro A. Castro and wife Cecilia of Anthony, Raul A. Castro and wife Tammy of Jacksonville, Arkansas; three daughters, Mary A. Castro , Carmen C. Melendez and husband Andres Jr. all of Anthony, Elena A. Castro of Canutillo, Texas. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, Carmen C. Melendez, Andres C. Melendez III and wife Christy, Maria Elena Pangborn, Raul Castro III and wife Desirae, Alejandro Castro Jr., Cecilia V. Castro, Ricardo Castro; five great grandchildren, Aaron Andrew, Isaac Ian and Kayla Kristine Melendez, Nevaeh and Raul Castro IV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raul M. Castro; her mother, Eulogia H. Silva; her stepfather, Dario C. Silva and her father, Alejandro Aragon. Visitation for Mrs. Castro will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June, 03, 2010 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Avenue where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the funeral mass at 2 p.m. Friday, June 04, 2010 in the same church with Reverend Andres Alava officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow in Anthony Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Andy Melendez III, Alejandro Castro Jr, Aaron Melendez, Raul Castro III, Carlos Gallegos Jr., and Andres Melendez Jr. Honorary bearers will be Isaac I.
