Baker, 84, of Las Cruces died Tuesday, June 8, 2010. She was born Nov. 29, 1925 in Huntsville, TX., to Isaac and Alberta Butler Spriggs. Odessa had been a member of the Baptist Community all of her life, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, volunteered at the Munson Senior Center where she gladly helped in any way she could but, her passion was for her family. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Baker is survived by her four sons Eddie L. Baker and wife Jeane of Flagstaff, AZ., Howard Baker and wife Fannie of Albuquerque, NM., Johnnie Baker and Melvin Baker and wife Gwen all of Dallas, TX; 10 grandchildren Stephanie, Collette, Neshia, Jacinda, Terrance, Chandra, Danese, Brandon, Katrina and Lauren; 9 great-grandchildren Brittany, Devon, Janessa, Isiah, Dazan, Marquis, Kesawn and Santana. She is also survived by a host of other family members. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 14, 2010 at Bethel Second Baptist Church with Pastor Gregory Arthur officiating.
