Glenn was born in Brocksburg, Nebraska on February 10, 1931 to Bert and Edna Stone. The family moved to Cortez, Colorado in 1939. Glenn graduated from Cortez High School in 1948. He attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. Glenn left the University to join the Air Force, where he served his country honorably. Glenn was a member of the Lions Club and Life Member of the Gallup Elks Lodge 1440. While living in Cortez, Glenn met Rita Rutledge. They were married in 1956 and were blessed with five daughters. Glenn and Rita were happily married for 54 years. They lived in several places before settling in Gallup, New Mexico. Together, in Gallup, they raised their family and ran the family business for 37 years. Glenn was Rita's sole caregiver for over 25 years, after a terrible car accident affected both of their lives. Due to health reasons, and to be closer to family, they moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2004. Glenn is survived by his loving wife Rita, and Daughters: Diana and Chuck Forney of Flowermound, TX., Julie and Dennis Woods of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Lori Bowers of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Lisa and Ron Gordon of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Melanie and Dennis Skersick of Gallup, New Mexico. Thirteen Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren. A sister Raye Kennedy of Cortez, and two brothers, Jerald Stone of Cortez, Colorado and Charles Stone of Manter, Kansas. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Bert and Edna Stone, brother Paul Joseph Stone, Sisters Jessamine West, Judy Bishop and infant Geraldine Stone. At Glenn's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mausoleum located at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery 5140 W. Picacho. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice 299 E. Montana Las Cruces, NM 88005. Arrangements have been entrusted to La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home.
