She was 75 years old. She was born in Seoul, South Korea on February 04 , 1935 to Chi Eggy Kwon and Su Che. She had two siblings an older brother; Bau, and older sister; Nomi, whom she lost contact with after the war in Korea, but she always remembered them fondly and spoke of them often. She married Larry Chandler of Honolulu, Hawaii on November 08, 1963 in Seoul, South Korea. Yong moved to the United States with her husband and children in 1966 arriving and becoming a resident of Las Cruces in 1967. Las Cruces became her home, residing here for over 43 years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints which brought her joy and happiness in her life along with many blessings including lifelong friendships with many of the members. She was a devoted and dedicated volunteer for her church, faithfully serving others, and the community for many years. She is preceded in death by her son Morgan Quinn Chandler who was born February 03, 1971 and died on May 11, 1979. She is survived by her husband Larry Chandler and Children; Bobby Chandler ( Wife, Diana: Riverside, CA.) , Lari Tanner (Husband, David: Dallas, TX) , and Liahni Hamrick, (Husband, William: Chicago IL.); Grandchildren; Jason Chandler, Aaron Chandler, Nolan Chandler, Mattie Tanner, Cameron Tanner, Caulin Tanner, Marin Tanner; Great-Grandchildren; Jayden Chandler, Mic! ah Chandler, and Bella Chandler. Yong was a very devoted wife, loving mother, and loyal friend. She was instantly loved by all those who had the pleasure of meeting her and becoming her friends. The family would like to thank all the medical staffing at the various facilities in Las Cruces for their care, and all those living in Las Cruces and throughout the county that touched Yong's life and supported and loved her. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Liver Foundation, Desert Southwest Division, 4545 E. Visitation for Mrs. Chandler will be on Thursday July 01, 2010 at La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.,555 West Amador Las Cruces NM. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday July 02, 2010 at Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 3210 N. Venus Las Cruces, NM with a viewing starting from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
