He was born on September 4, 1915, to Grover Benjamin and Winnie Elsie Hicks Yarbrough, in Emerson, Missouri . In 1934, he graduated from Emerson High School and joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. During the height of the Great Depression, he moved with his family to La Grande, Oregon, to work on a farm. There, he met and later married Lucille Campbell on September 28, 1941, in Weiser, Idaho . During World War II, he served his country honorably as a member of the Army Air Corp. He was a building contractor and lumber yard owner in the Middleton and Nampa, Idaho, areas where he resided until 2005, at which time he moved to New Mexico. As a man of faith, he was a member of Baptist churches and as a younger man served as a Deacon. He was an honorable man and outstanding father. Dad, we shall forever miss your guidance and love. Cecil is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lucille ! He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Vivian Stimpson, brother, Jack Selves, an infant brother, and a grandson, Christopher Turner.
