Author: marcenath Surnames: Tellez, Madrid, Candelaria Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newmexico.counties.donaana/4394/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Las Cruces Sun News 14 June 2010 Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Magdalena Madrid Tellez, 87, of Las Cruces and formerly of Anthony left her dwelling place on earth and entered eternal to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, June 11, 2010 at La Posada - Mesilla Valley Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 18, 1923 in Anthony to Arcadio and Canuta Candelaria Madrid. Mrs. Tellez was a homemaker and a communicant at St. Anthony's Catholic Church where she was a member of the church choir. Those left to mourn her passing include two sons, Ruben Tellez, Jr. and wife Lupe of Anthony, Joe M. Tellez and wife Irene of Hemet, California; two daughters, Eva T. Graham and husband Jim of Las Cruces, Sylvia T. Brown and husband Lantz of Peachtree City, Georgia; five brothers, Jesus Madrid of Garden Grove, California, Fermin Madrid of Wildomar, California, Ramon Madrid of La Brea, California, Eduardo Candelaria of Anaheim, California and Jose Madrid of Anthony; four sisters, Maria Aldaz of Berino, Manuela Bailon of El Paso, Texas, Angie Johns of Daleville, Alabama and Herminia Madrid of Las Cruces. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Debra Velarde and husband Stephen, Claudia Worlds and husband Rod, Gabriel Tellez and wife Cathy and Paul Tellez and wife Shannon, Justin and Madison Brown; four great grandchildren, Aaron and Michael Velarde, Nathan and Naomi Tellez. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ruben G. Tellez; two brothers, Roberto and Alejandro Madrid; a sister, Josefa Avalos. Visitation for Mrs. Tellez will begin at 8:30 AM Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Avenue where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 9 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated the same morning at 10 AM with Reverend Andres Alava officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Anthony Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband. Serving as casket bearers will be Dr. Stephen Velarde, Aaron Velarde, Lantz Brown, Reymundo Aldaz, George Madrid and Gabriel Tellez.
