He was born July 08, 1983 in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico to Luis Antonio and Maria Lourdes Vasquez Cruz. Luis was a 2007 graduate of New Mexico State University with a Bachelor's in Philosophy with a supplemental Degree in Filmmaking. He planned to return to school in the fall semester to pursue his Master Degree. Luis was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include his loving mother, Maria Lourdes Cruz; a sister, Yuridia Cruz, and a brother Antonio Cruz all of Las Cruces. Other survivors include his paternal grandmother Guadalupe Rendon; maternal grandparents, Francisco Chavez and Ramona Yolanda Vargas all of Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father, Luis Antonio Cruz on January 2009. Visitation for Luis will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 in Baca' Chapels of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road where the prayer vigil is schedule of 3 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. in the same chapel with Reverend Martin Cordero officiating. Cremation will take place and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.
